Ola Electric shares in focus as Bharat Cell scooter deliveries scale up across 4 states

Shares of Ola Electric Mobility are drawing investor attention after the company announced a significant scale-up in deliveries of electric scooters powered by its in-house developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery across four Indian states, signalling progress in commercial rollout of its proprietary technology.

Ola Electric said it has delivered 4,680 scooters equipped with the 4680 Bharat Cell battery across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana and Karnataka, while commencing deliveries in cities including Coimbatore, Kochi and Hyderabad, and continuing strong volume growth in Bengaluru. The scooters in question are the S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) models, which feature the company’s first indigenously manufactured battery packs, offering enhanced range and performance.

The company highlighted that with its own 4680 Bharat Cell technology, it has become the first Indian electric vehicle maker to fully own both cell and battery pack manufacturing in-house, a milestone in building a fully integrated EV ecosystem in the country. Ola Electric also indicated plans to expand deliveries nationwide in the months ahead.

In addition to the delivery momentum, Ola Electric has recently secured a Rs. 366.78 crore incentive under India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Components for the fiscal year 2024-25, further supporting its manufacturing and localisation efforts. The sanctioned incentive recognises the company’s strides in domestic battery production and advanced EV technology development.

Ola Electric’s expanded Bharat Cell deliveries and supportive government incentives are seen as positive developments for the company’s commercial execution and tech roadmap, keeping its shares in focus among market participants.
