- As per market grapevine, India is losing foreign capital of nearly $1 billion daily since July 2024 after higher capital gain tax and STT. Over $120 billion has reportedly moved out, making markets less attractive globally. Investors urge the government to reconsider these taxes, otherwise flows may shift to safer avenues like PPF, bank FD, debt funds and small savings schemes.
- IPOs Alert: Amirchand Jagdish Kumar Exports listed on 9th April 2026 at Rs.175 against IPO price Rs.212, a 21% discount, and within 6 trading days slipped to Rs.120 with heavy volumes, reflecting nearly 77% erosion from the issue price. - Foreign portfolio value in Indian equities dropped sharply in March.
