Money Times Talk (MTTs) – 22/07/2026

  • SpaceX aborted the second Starship V3 launch after ignition. The stock has declined nearly 45% from its all-time high of $225 to around $124, below its IPO price of $135, highlighting how hype and FOMO can erode investor wealth.

  • A negative development for the Indian economy. Vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to a three-week low, reflecting reduced shipping activity at one of the world’s busiest energy trade routes and raising concerns over global supply chains and crude prices.

  • As per market veterans, gold and silver may have formed a medium-term bottom. Current levels near $3,990 for gold and $55 for silver offer a favourable risk-reward for long-term investors, though investment decisions should be taken in consultation with a financial advisor.

  • In South Korea, nearly 1.2 million retail traders reportedly received margin calls in a single week, highlighting the risks of excessive leverage in equity markets.

  • Himadri Speciality Chemical reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue, with Q1 net profit rising 26.3% YoY to Rs.230 crore. It approved Rs.70 crore investment for a Carbon Nano Tubes plant and a Super Specialty Carbon Black facility, both targeted for Q4FY28. The stock may surpass its 52-week high.

  • Huhtamaki India remains fundamentally strong with reserves of Rs.1,278 crore against equity of Rs.15 crore. Trading at just 14x P/E, the company declared a 100% FY26 dividend and maintains a positive FY27 outlook. The stock remains attractive against its all-time high of Rs.452.
