Manipal Health Enterprises has opened its much-awaited IPO, aiming to raise around Rs. 9,275 crore, making it one of the largest public issues in India this year. The hospital chain plans to use a major portion of the fresh proceeds to reduce debt and fund expansion by adding new hospitals and increasing bed capacity across the country. The issue has attracted significant attention from institutional investors due to the company’s strong presence in India’s healthcare sector.
The company currently operates one of the country’s largest hospital networks and intends to add nearly 2,400 beds over the next few years. Analysts believe India’s growing healthcare demand, rising insurance penetration and increasing spending on quality medical services provide favourable long-term growth prospects. Investors will closely monitor subscription levels and institutional participation before the issue closes.
