Money Times Talk (MTTs) – 13/08/2026

  • Investment rules for uncertain times include treating 2026 as a capital protection year rather than an aggressive growth year. Maintain 12–18 months of emergency funds, avoid investing borrowed money, focus on fundamentally strong companies, invest gradually, keep 20–30% cash for opportunities, diversify across sectors, avoid panic selling and FOMO buying, and review portfolios periodically without overreacting to daily volatility.

  • One of the biggest market lessons is that no company remains good or bad forever. Former market favourites like Yes Bank, Reliance Infra and DHFL eventually declined, while companies like SBI and HAL emerged as strong wealth creators after prolonged weak phases. Business cycles, management execution, industry trends and market perception keep changing. Investors should focus on current fundamentals and future growth rather than relying only on past performance.

  • Greed destroys more traders than losses. A few winning trades often lead to overconfidence, and one oversized trade can wipe out the gains of 15–20 disciplined ones. The market rewards discipline, not greed. Protect capital before chasing bigger profits.

  • Market corrections are opportunities, not threats. Instead of shifting from equity to debt during declines, gradually accumulate quality stocks and mutual funds at attractive valuations. Fear makes investors sell low, while greed makes them buy high. Stay disciplined and let compounding build long-term wealth.

  • HFCL secured export orders worth USD 54.81 million (Rs.522.73 crore) for the supply of Optical Fiber Cables (OFC) to leading global customers. Just keep the stock on the radar.

  • Morepen Laboratories posted its highest-ever Q1FY27 revenue and earnings, with EBITDA rising 207% and PAT 394%, driven by API recovery, export growth and CDMO commercialisation. The stock looks attractive at CMP versus its lifetime high of Rs.222.
