Cochin Shipyard reported a mixed Q1 FY27 performance, with consolidated revenue increasing about 2.4% YoY to Rs. 1,094.21 cr., while profit after tax declined nearly 19.4% to Rs. 151.45 cr. The weaker profitability was linked largely to a decline in ship-repair revenue.
The shipbuilder continues to benefit from India’s focus on defence and indigenous shipbuilding. Investors will now monitor the company’s order pipeline, execution schedule and margins to determine whether stronger shipbuilding activity can offset pressure in the repair business.
