Shares of One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, are in focus after a large block transaction involving around 1.92 crore shares, equivalent to roughly 3% of the company, changed hands. Resilient Asset Management, associated with Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, is looking to sell up to 4.98% of the company’s equity.
The proposed transaction is being watched closely because large shareholder transactions can influence short-term sentiment. Paytm’s underlying business has been improving, with the company reporting a 79% YoY rise in Q1 FY27 consolidated profit to Rs. 220 cr. and a 28% increase in operating revenue.
