InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., which operates IndiGo, is set to increase fuel charges on domestic and international flights from October 6. The airline is taking the step amid higher aviation turbine fuel costs and elevated operating expenses.
The additional fuel charge will vary according to the distance of the journey. The move comes as airlines continue to manage higher fuel-related costs amid volatility in global crude prices and disruptions in international energy markets.
The increase in fares is also being introduced against the backdrop of continuing pressure on aviation fuel costs linked to geopolitical developments in the Middle East.
