A proposed halt to attacks on Russian and Ukrainian energy facilities remained uncertain on Monday. While the US administration announced that the two sides had agreed to an energy ceasefire, Moscow had not publicly confirmed the arrangement, and Ukrainian officials reported fresh strikes on energy infrastructure.
The uncertainty matters for international markets because attacks on refineries, power plants and other energy assets can disrupt fuel availability and exports. Any sustained reduction in attacks could ease some supply concerns, but further escalation would risk renewed volatility in oil prices and related commodities.
