- Major Support: 54,900–54,700.

Open Interest Analysis:
Nifty 50: The index closed at 22,622.70, reflecting renewed selling pressure. The 22,700–22,800 strike zone is important to monitor for call writing or call unwinding, while 22,500–22,600 is a key area to watch for put writing. A sustained move above 22,800 accompanied by call unwinding could improve the outlook. Conversely, fresh call writing and a break below 22,550 would indicate continued weakness.
Bank Nifty: The index settled at 55,316.00, below the previous session’s close. The 55,000–55,200 zone is an important support area, while 55,500–56,000 is the key resistance band. Put writing around support could help stabilize prices; fresh call writing near 55,500 or 56,000 could restrict the upside.

- Domestic institutional buying exceeded foreign institutional cash selling, cushioning the market decline. FIIs also recorded net selling in index futures and index options, reflecting continued caution in derivatives positioning
5. International Cues
- US inflation: September CPI came in hotter than expected, increasing concern that US interest rates may remain higher for longer
- Asian markets: Asian equities fell sharply in early trading, with South Korea’s KOSPI and Japan’s Nikkei under pressure. Technology and AI-linked stocks were particularly weak.
- US markets: Wall Street ended lower for a third consecutive session, while US equity futures pointed to further weakness.
- Crude oil: Brent remained near US$106 per barrel amid geopolitical and supply concerns, posing a risk to India’s inflation outlook.
- Rupee: The rupee closed near ₹95.15 per US dollar on Wednesday. Importer dollar demand and portfolio outflows remain potential headwinds.
- Domestic triggers: Monitor Q2 earnings, foreign investor flows, crude prices, currency movements and global risk sentiment.
Overall View:
Indian equities declined on Wednesday as elevated crude prices and continued FII selling outweighed strength in IT stocks. Nifty fell 0.44% to 22,622.70, while Bank Nifty declined 0.30% to 55,316.00. The outlook remains cautious following hotter US inflation data and a sell-off in Asian technology shares. Nifty needs to reclaim 22,760–22,800 and Bank Nifty 55,650 to improve short-term momentum. Traders should avoid chasing opening moves and maintain predefined stop-losses.
