Tyre manufacturer CEAT Ltd. reported a decline in September-quarter profit even as revenue increased, according to reports published on Thursday. Revenue rose 26.2% year-on-year, while net profit fell by nearly 40%, with higher raw-material costs weighing on profitability.
The results highlight the pressure tyre makers can face when input costs rise faster than selling prices or when expenses increase during a period of sales growth. Rubber and other materials, energy, logistics and product mix can all influence margins in the tyre industry.
Investors will be watching whether the company can manage costs and protect margins in the coming quarters. Revenue growth remains important, but profit trends and operating margins are also key indicators of the company’s financial performance.
