Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine will resume attacks on Russian oil refineries, amid growing disagreements with the United States over military strategy and energy supplies. The announcement follows concerns about reduced US intelligence support and the reported weakening of Starlink communications during Russian attacks.
Washington has reportedly pressed Kyiv to pause strikes on Russian refineries as part of efforts connected with Russian diesel supplies and fuel prices. Zelenskyy argued that restrictions on Ukraine’s operations could strengthen Russia’s ability to finance its war effort.
The development adds uncertainty to energy markets because attacks on refineries can disrupt fuel production and exports. Traders will be watching for further military action, diplomatic responses and any impact on Russian energy flows.
