YES Bank Reports 65% YoY Rise in Q2 Profit, but AT1 Bond Ruling Creates Uncertainty

YES Bank Ltd. reported a 65% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs.1,080 crore for the July–September quarter of FY27. Net interest income also increased, indicating growth in the bank’s core lending operations. The results have placed the lender in focus as investors assess earnings performance alongside the potential implications of a legal dispute.

The Supreme Court’s decision on Additional Tier-1 (AT1) bonds worth Rs.8,415 crore remains a key concern. YES Bank’s pro forma assessment indicated that recognising the estimated impact could have resulted in a post-tax loss of Rs.5,217 crore for the quarter. The bank is examining the ruling and its implications, so investors will be watching for further disclosures.
