Union Bank of India reported net profit of approximately Rs.5,537 crore for the September quarter of FY27, marking a 30.3% increase year-on-year. Net interest income rose 20.1% to Rs.10,583 crore, while total business expanded 12% to approximately Rs.24.75 lakh crore as of September 30.
The bank recorded growth across lending activities, with total advances increasing around 18.5% year-on-year. Its retail, agriculture and MSME portfolio also expanded, while improvements in asset quality helped strengthen the quarterly performance. The gross non-performing asset ratio declined to 2.42%, and the net NPA ratio stood at 0.42%.
The results indicate growth in lending and profitability alongside lower reported bad-loan ratios. Investors will continue monitoring deposit mobilisation, lending margins, credit costs and asset quality to determine whether the bank can sustain this performance over the coming quarters.
