Air India Cuts September Capacity by 8.8% Amid Operational Pressures

Air India is reducing its scheduled capacity by 8.8% YoY in September to around 3.2 million seats. The reduction is nearly twice the overall capacity decline expected across the airline industry during the month.

The capacity adjustment comes as airlines continue to manage operational and geopolitical challenges. For Air India, managing fleet availability, international operations and route economics remains important as the group continues its broader transformation and expansion programme.
