Avenue Supermarts Ltd., which operates the DMart retail chain, reported an increase in September-quarter revenue compared with the year-earlier period. The company’s quarterly update put revenue at around Rs.19,644 crore, while net profit rose to approximately Rs.743.5 crore.
The results will be watched for indications of consumer demand, store productivity and the impact of operating expenses. For retailers, revenue growth needs to be considered alongside margins and costs to understand whether higher sales are translating into stronger earnings.
