NIFTY OUTLOOK: 25818.55 FII 1171.71 cr DII 768.94 cr
As discussed yesterday, market behaviour remained on the expected lines during the day. The Nifty opened near our level of 25910 (opened at 25902.40), made a minor upside move, and then slipped to the day’s low of 25770.35, close to our support of 25761. On closing, it settled near our level of 25810, ending the day at 25818.55.
Further, an average bearish candle appeared on the daily chart of the Nifty, representing a lower high–lower low pattern. Technically, this indicates continuation of bearish sentiment. Hence, if the Nifty decisively breaks below the previous low of 25770, it may slip further to 25723–25675. If supply intensifies, it may test 25627.
On the upside, 25867–25915 may act as immediate resistance for the Nifty. A sustained breakout above these levels may push the Nifty towards 25963–26010.

Note:
The Bank of Japan is likely to maintain its pledge next week to keep raising interest rates, while stressing that the pace of further hikes will depend on how the economy responds to each increase, according to sources familiar with the matter. Markets have almost fully priced in a rate hike to 0.75% from 0.5% at the December 18–19 meeting, after Governor Kazuo Ueda largely pre-announced such a move. Attention has now shifted to how far the BOJ could raise rates before reaching a neutral level.
Conclusion: Keep a close watch on BOJ policy decisions and forward guidance on rate hikes.
