- FIIs sold Rs.55 cr in the cash segment, sold Rs.243 cr in index futures, and bought Rs.4,588 cr in stock futures.
Open Interest Position:
A. FIIs bought 4,303 lots in index futures and created shorts in 5,388 lots (net -1,085 lots).
B. DIIs booked profit in 474 lots and covered shorts in 20 lots (net -454 lots).
C. Clients and retail booked profit in 3,949 lots and created shorts in 950 lots (net -4,899 lots).
D. Proprietary traders created long positions in 6,479 lots and shorts in 41 lots (net +6,438 lots).
Note:
FIIs’ net long position stands at 25.69%, while PCR and VIX remain at comfortable levels. Today, some shorts were covered by FIIs, and both FIIs and DIIs booked profits. Proprietary traders created strong long positions, while DIIs remained on the sidelines. FIIs created 5,388 shorts, and retail traders added 950 shorts. It appears to be a tug of war between Pros (longs) and FIIs plus Retail (shorts).
Net longs stand at 10,782 lots and net shorts at 6,359 lots. Any dips near 25,910–25,880 may offer a buying opportunity, with immediate resistance seen at 26,069.
