India’s SME IPO market witnessed fresh activity as Advance Technoforge and Propshop Events & Exhibitions opened their public issues for subscription. Advance Technoforge, a manufacturing company, launched its fixed-price IPO on the BSE SME platform, while Propshop Events & Exhibitions entered the market through the NSE SME platform to raise funds for business expansion. On the opening day, investor response remained relatively muted, with subscription levels below one time.
Market participants believe SME IPOs continue to provide emerging businesses with an important platform to raise capital while offering investors access to growing companies at an early stage. Analysts, however, recommend carefully reviewing each company’s financial performance, industry outlook and valuation before investing, as SME stocks generally experience higher price volatility after listing compared with mainboard IPOs.
