Money Times Talk (MTTs) – 15/10/2026

  • As per market veteran, wisdom for wealth creation. Focus on the businesses you own rather than daily index movements. Earnings growth, cash flow, competitive advantage and intrinsic value matter more over time than market predictions. Knowing what not to buy is as important as knowing what to buy.

  • Nomura view on India strategy: Rising yields and growth concerns are pressuring valuations. Nomura has cut its target multiple to 17x from 18.5x, favouring valuation discipline, bottom-up stock selection and value opportunities over expensive growth stocks.

  • IRAN & USA both are buying time! The conflict and elevated crude prices pose risks for India as a major oil importer. Brent above $80 is a significant negative for the Indian economy, potentially pressuring inflation, the rupee and the trade deficit. Claims that either side is deliberately timing attacks or peace statements to manipulate oil prices remain unverified.

  • Alert-alert-alert – very big alert: As per market grapevine, the government should reduce STT and long-term capital gains tax to attract FFIs, FPIs and NRIs. Heavy IPOs, OFS, QIPs and bulk deals may drain secondary-market liquidity, while drought risks could hurt the economy. Nilesh Shah, Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra AMC, has called for a balance between STT and capital gains taxation. Without timely action, equity mutual fund money may shift to debt funds and bank FDs, with SIP stoppages and redemptions potentially increasing. Investors should review 1-year, 2-year and 3-year mutual fund returns.

  • Lesson for every investor from the 4 Vedas. Rig Veda teaches us to know, Sama Veda to experience, Yajur Veda to act and Atharva Veda to apply. Markets have ups and downs, and knowledge creates wealth only when backed by disciplined action. Money is a tool to support health, family and life goals.

  • Astro alert: Rahu remains in Dhanishta Nakshatra until 5-12-2026 and Saturn remains retrograde until 11th December 2026. As per this astrological view, volatility may continue. Reduce F&O trading, avoid overtrading and leverage, and stay away from MTF until December 2026. Prioritise capital protection. Food shortages may pose further risks, while fixed-income investments could outperform equity mutual funds over 1–2 years, though returns are not guaranteed. Trump’s unpredictable actions may continue to unsettle markets.
