The National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE) reported a 23% YoY rise in consolidated profit to Rs.2,578 crore for Q2 FY27. Operating revenue reached Rs.4,067 crore, according to its latest quarterly financial update. The results mark the exchange’s first quarterly earnings announcement since its stock market listing in September 2026.
Despite the annual growth, the exchange recorded a sequential decline in revenue and profit compared with the June quarter. Reuters attributed the pressure partly to lower trading activity following the introduction of a closing auction session in August. Average daily equity-options volumes, measured by premiums paid, declined 25%, while cash-market trading volumes rose 24% YoY.
The results provide an early indication of how regulatory and trading-structure changes are influencing the exchange’s business. Future performance will depend on trading volumes, market participation and the growth of its technology-related services.
