Digital payments and fintech platform PhonePe has partnered with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT’s conversational-AI capabilities directly within its app ecosystem.
Under the collaboration, PhonePe users will be able to access ChatGPT from inside the PhonePe consumer app, the PhonePe for Business application and via the Indus Appstore.
Key aspects:
- The AI assistant will support tasks such as travel planning, shopping advice, text drafting and local-language chat, aimed at enhancing everyday user engagement inside the fintech platform.
- PhonePe emphasises that all financial-transaction data remain separately secured and the ChatGPT chat interface will operate under OpenAI’s privacy policies, not used for profiling payments behaviour.
- For OpenAI, the tie-up marks a strategic push into the Indian market via a major local partner with scale.
