Punjab National Bank (PNB) reported a 13% year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs.5,532 crore for the September quarter of FY27, compared with Rs.4,904 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income increased to Rs.38,185 crore from Rs.36,214 crore, while interest income also recorded growth.
Asset quality improved during the quarter. Gross non-performing assets declined to 2.55% of gross advances from 3.45% a year earlier, while net NPAs fell to 0.25% from 0.36%. The results indicate stronger profitability alongside lower reported bad-loan ratios, though investors will continue monitoring credit costs and future loan growth.
