Oil prices remained elevated on Thursday as investors assessed the impact of the US-Iran war and uncertainty surrounding shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude was around $91.87 a barrel, while WTI remained above $85.
The sustained rise in crude prices could be particularly important for India, which relies heavily on imported oil. A prolonged period of expensive crude could increase the import bill and put pressure on the rupee while raising operating costs for transport-intensive industries.
