Foreign portfolio investors have turned significantly more positive towards Indian equities during August. FPIs have invested approximately Rs. 23,544 cr. so far this month, supported by improving corporate earnings and relative stability in the rupee.
The fresh inflows provide some relief after foreign investors had remained cautious earlier in the year. However, elevated crude prices and geopolitical tensions remain important risks. Continued FPI buying could help support domestic benchmarks if global uncertainty does not intensify.
