International gold prices remained under pressure as investors assessed stronger US inflation data and the possibility that interest rates could remain elevated for longer. Gold was reported near $4,155 an ounce, while silver traded around $59.04 an ounce in recent market updates.
Higher interest rates can reduce the relative appeal of non-yielding assets such as gold, although geopolitical uncertainty can support demand for precious metals as defensive holdings. Silver prices also reflect industrial demand, making the metal sensitive to expectations for manufacturing and economic growth.
Indian buyers should check local bullion quotations before making purchases. Domestic rates vary with exchange rates, purity, taxes and dealer charges, so international spot prices do not directly represent the final retail price in India.
