Gold prices moved higher on Thursday as a softer US dollar provided support to bullion. Spot gold rose around 0.3% to $4,412.84 an ounce, while silver also gained during early trading.
Investors are awaiting upcoming US inflation indicators, particularly producer and consumer price data, which could influence expectations around the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision. A weaker dollar generally makes dollar-denominated precious metals more attractive to overseas buyers.
Geopolitical uncertainty is another factor keeping bullion markets active. Although gold has traditionally benefited from safe-haven demand during periods of conflict, current price movements are also being strongly influenced by currency movements and expectations around US monetary policy.
