Indian Bank has raised $400 million through overseas foreign-currency borrowing for a four-year period. The funds were raised from Commerzbank AG’s Singapore branch and CTBC Bank of Taiwan, strengthening the bank’s access to international funding.
The fundraising comes as Indian banks accelerate overseas borrowing following changes to the RBI’s foreign-exchange swap facility. Indian Bank also reported strong Q1 FY27 numbers, with standalone net profit rising 10% YoY to Rs. 3,273 cr., while net interest income increased 17%.
