Indian equity markets are expected to open on a firmer note today after global cues improved. GIFT Nifty pointed to a positive start, while softer US Treasury yields and gains across Asian markets offered some relief after the recent selling pressure.
The ongoing US-Iran conflict continues to dominate global risk sentiment, particularly because of uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. The US says the waterway is open and has established a shipping corridor, while Iran maintains restrictions and the security situation remains uncertain.
Oil prices remained elevated on Thursday as investors assessed the impact of the US-Iran war and uncertainty surrounding shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude was around $91.87 a barrel, while WTI remained above $85.
Hyundai Motor India has announced that it will increase prices across its vehicle range by up to 1% from September 2026. The company said the exact increase will vary according to the model and variant. The move comes amid changing input and operating costs in the automobile sector.
Indian Bank has raised $400 million through overseas foreign-currency borrowing for a four-year period. The funds were raised from Commerzbank AG’s Singapore branch and CTBC Bank of Taiwan, strengthening the bank’s access to international funding.
Apollo Micro Systems is in focus today as the defence-electronics company holds an investor interaction based on its Q1 FY27 presentation. The meeting provides investors an opportunity to assess the company’s latest financial performance, order pipeline and growth plans.
Tempsens Instruments (India) opens its IPO today, August 20. The mainboard issue is worth Rs. 650 cr., with a price band of Rs. 285–300 per share. The issue comprises a fresh issue of up to Rs. 95 cr. and an offer for sale of Rs. 555 cr., and will remain open until August 24.
Augmont Enterprises is set to open its IPO tomorrow, August 21. The company has fixed a price band of Rs. 750–788 per share, with the issue size at Rs. 825 cr. The offering comprises a fresh issue of around Rs. 620 cr. and an offer for sale of about Rs. 205 cr.
Skyways Air Services is preparing to enter the primary market on August 24. The air-freight forwarding and logistics company has fixed its IPO price band at Rs. 131–138 per share, with the issue size at approximately Rs. 582.8 cr. The issue will close on August 27.
