- USD/CAD fell by 0.03% to end at 1.356 on Friday, as BoC may likely continue easing interest rates further
- International Markets:
- U.S. markets were a mixed bag on Friday with the Dow Jones up by 0.09% while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq were down by 0.19% and 0.39% respectively. All 3 major futures indices are trading up by 13-56 bps at the time of writing the report
- The Bank of Japan left its policy rate unchanged at 0.25% in its policy meeting on Friday, which was in line with economists' expectations
- U.K. retail sales rose by 1.0% MoM in Aug-24 vs. 0.7% MoM in Jul-24 and was ahead of expectations of a 0.3% MoM increase. On a YoY basis retail sales increased by 2.5% YoY in Aug-24 vs. 1.5% in Jul-24
