- BIOCON: Biocon Biologics Gets U.S. FDA Approval for Jobevne™
- Biocon Biologics, a subsidiary of Biocon Ltd, announced U.S. FDA approval for Jobevne™ (bevacizumab-nwgd), a biosimilar to Avastin®, expanding its oncology portfolio in the U.S. This marks Biocon’s seventh biosimilar approved in the U.S. and follows approvals in Europe and Canada under the name ABEVMY. Jobevne™ is used to treat various cancers by inhibiting VEGF and preventing blood supply to tumors.
- The approval was based on data confirming Jobevne’s similarity to Avastin in safety, efficacy, and other parameters.
- Biocon Biologics now serves over 5 million patients annually with a growing portfolio of biosimilars across global markets.
