Indian equity markets are expected to begin Wednesday’s trading session on a cautious note, with GIFT Nifty signalling a weaker opening. Investors are assessing the potential implications of the US midterm election outcome for global financial markets, energy prices and international trade. This follows a four-session rally during which the Sensex and Nifty gained around 5%.
The Nifty 50 closed at 23,810.85 on Tuesday, while the Sensex settled at 76,917.85, with both benchmarks reaching two-month highs. Foreign investors bought Indian equities worth Rs.6,837 crore on Tuesday, according to Reuters. Market participants will also monitor corporate earnings, crude oil movements and developments in US economic policy.
